In a thrilling rollercoaster of a match, Parma and Inter Milan had to settle for a 2-2 draw at the Ennio Tardini Stadium on April 5, 2025.

The match had it all: early goals, a come-from-behind thriller, and dramatic scenes towards the end that left both teams with bittersweet emotions.

The Goals That Lit Up the Game

Inter Strike First (15'): Matteo Darmian scored for the home side with a nice left-footed finish inside the box, taking advantage of a messy situation in Parma's box. The goal showed that Inter was quick and nimble in the first half.

Thuram Doubles the Lead (45'): On the stroke of halftime, Marcus Thuram scored from a messy rebound after Henrikh Mkhitaryan's pass. Inter seemed to be cruising—until Parma flipped the script.

Bernabé's Rocket (60'): Adrián Bernabé helped Parma with a great long distance shot that ended up in the bottom corner, thanks to Ange-Yoan Bonny. The home supporters went wild!

Ondrejka's Equalizer (69'): Jacob Ondrejka finished off the comeback when he scored with a deflected shot that beat Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Parma erupted!Important Events and Thrills

Close Call for a Goal (90+1'): Parma almost scored when Mateo Pellegrino's low shot passed by the post, much to the relief of the Inter supporters.

Yellow Card Frenzy: The referee issued five yellow cards, including one to Inter's Joaquín Correa in injury time for a harsh challenge.

Substitutions Galore: Both managers made a tactical gamble by making substitutions. Inter introduced Marko Arnautović to introduce aerial threat, while Parma introduced fresh players like Drissa Camara to strengthen their defense.

By the Numbers:

Inter had 63% of possession but Parma utilized their 37% effectively.

Inter had 20 shots, with 4 being on target. Parma had 8 shots, also with 4 on target.

Passing: Inter completed 609 passes (89% accuracy) versus 371 (85%) of Parma.

Corners: Inter had 4 corners and Parma 2.

Post-Match Reactions

Simone Inzaghi (Inter Coach):

We started well, but losing concentration cost us. Parma tried hard, and we tip our hat to them. We will learn from this and continue striving for the title." (Although there are no direct quotes, Inzaghi was visibly annoyed as Inter let an opportunity to widen their advantage at the top slip away).

Cristian Chivu (Parma Coach):

This squad has heart! To come back from 0-2 versus Inter? Unbelievable. We will use this spirit for the relegation battle." (Chivu, a former Inter player, must have savored this win over his old team).

What's Next?

Inter are top of Serie A with 68 points, and Parma are 16th with 27 points. Parma want to stay in the league; Inter want to keep ahead of the likes of Napoli.
